YMCA Youth Hub St Helens

A local charity approached RD Engineering Associates Ltd to produce a conceptual Architectural design scheme to redevelop an existing youth centre.

We strongly believe that charities provide a vital role in society and to assist them in their aim to improve local children’s prospects, we agreed to undertake the concept proposals for no fee to aid the charity in its bid to obtain a government grant for the scheme.

The charity was successful in its bid and was awarded £1.4million in grants to redevelop the premises for a new state of the art youth centre, which included a climbing wall, multi-sensory room, creative room, large kitchen area for classes as well as a breakout area for the children to relax.

RD Engineering brought together a strong design and construction team with our contacts within the industry, ensuring a highly skilled team was appointed for the design and installation of the project.

We provided structural designs for internal load bearing wall removals, design of an indoor climbing wall, a new high level mezzanine structure and the implementation of a new lift.

The charity was thrilled with the results of the project and now can support an additional 175 young people every week.
