James Street Station – Liverpool

RD-Engineering Associates Ltd. were appointed as structural design consultants to a  Mechanical and Electrical (M & E) Contractor for a ventilation & cooling improvement project at an underground railway station.

The project aim was to replace the aging ventilation and electrician systems with new modern systems.

Providing technical support to the contractor, RD undertook structural calculations and technical drawings for the fixing details for M&E equipment, structural openings in load bearing walls & suspended concrete slabs for new ventilation & ducting penetrations. We also provided temporary work design on the project.

Throughout the project RD-Engineering carefully and meticulously considered the hazards and risks associated with each stage of the structural design, providing robust solutions to difficult working environments.

From the initial enquiry to the finished project, RD-Engineering collaborated closely with product manufacturers, sub-contractors, and the client to ensure our calculations and technical drawings were completed to the high standard required by Network Rail projects.
